What you need to know

The state of Idaho uses a graduated driver license program for those under 17 working towards receiving their driver’s license. To start the process, you’ll need to pass a written knowledge test that contains 40 multiple-choice questions, which are based on the 2024 Idaho Driver’s Manual. The test requires you to answer at least 34 of the 40 questions correctly to pass. While the real test will cover the entire driver’s manual, this DMV practice test will only focus on fines and limits. You’ll find all the information you need to answer these questions, and the ones about fines and limits on the real exam, in Chapter 8 of the manual. Questions about fines and limits may cover the license point system, restriction on the stages of your license, facts about driving under the influence, speed limits, and more. This practice test is particularly important to take until you feel you have mastered the information contained in Chapter 8, due to the fact that questions about fines and limits are based on hard facts and figures which you need to remember or memorize, and cannot be answered by common sense or guessing.
